Rava Kesari Recipe

Ingredients
fine rava – 1 cup
sugar – 1 cups
water – 2 cups
ghee – 3/4 cups
warm milk – 2 tbsp
elaichi powder – 2 tsp
saffron strands – a few
orange red food color – a pinch
Raisins and cashews fried in ghee- 2 tbsp

Recipe
Boil water and keep aside. In the meantime, fry rava in a ladleful of ghee until nicely roasted. 
Pour water into the rava and stir until the rava is cooked. Now add the sugar and stir vigorously, making sure no lumps are formed.
Add ghee slowly and then,mix elaichi powder, saffron and food color to the warm milk and pour into the rava. 
Keep stirring until the mixture starts to leave the sides of the pan. Switch off the stove. 
Add raisins and cashews. Serve when cooled.
